Privacy Policy

Version 1.00
Adopted September 11th, 2007

West Central Minnesota Teens Encounter Christ ("WC MN TEC") is a Christian nonprofit organization committed to excellence, integrity, and your privacy. Our mission is to earn and build your trust and confidence by promoting and upholding the highest standards concerning principles of disclosure and informed consent. This Privacy Policy is provided to inform you of ways we gather and use information on www.wcmntec.org ("Website"). This Privacy Policy does not apply to any website which may be "linked" to this Website, or any website that we may link to ourselves. And WC MN TEC is not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of such other websites.

Information we collect and how we use it

The majority of our website does not require you to register for any sort of account. The registration on our community forums is voluntary.
  • Information you provide: When you attend a WC MN TEC retreat weekend, you supply certain information about yourself, such as your name, address, telephone number, and email address. This information is not used outside of the WC MN TEC organization and will never be shared with a third party. Your name and address will be used for all-TEC mailings/newsletters, etc, and your email address will be used to receive all-TEC e-mailings/e-newsletters, etc. You have the option to opt-out of receiving further communications from us after attending a WC MN TEC retreat weekend by sending an e-mail to privacy(at)wcmntec.org, letting us know you no longer wish to receive further communications from us.
  • Cookies: When you visit WC MN TEC's website, there may be times when a cookie - a small file containing a string of characters - is sent and stored on your computer. This is especially true on the Community Forums. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you may reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some of the features of our website (currently the Forums) may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
  • Log information: When you use WC MN TEC's website, our servers automatically record information your browser sends whenever you visit our website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request, your country of origin, and one or more cookies to uniquely identify your browser.
  • User communications: When you send email or other communications to WC MN TEC, we may retain those communications in order to process inquires, and respond to your requests.
  • Links: WC MN TEC may present links to third party websites; WC MN TEC is not responsible for the content displayed on these websites, and the inclusion of a link on our website does not necessarily constitute endorsement of the organization whose website you will be visiting by clicking on said link(s).

WC MN TEC only processes personal information for the purposes described in this Policy. In addition to the above, such purposes may include:

  • Providing communications about upcoming WC MN TEC related events and retreat weekends.
  • Developing new content based on information that you may or may not send to us voluntarily.

Choices for personal information

When you register for any service on our website (Community Forums for example), we ask you to provide some limited personal information. If we intend to use this information in a manner different than the purpose for which it was collected, then we will ask for your consent prior to such use. If we propose to use personal information for any purposes other than those described in this Policy, we will offer an effective way to opt out of the use of personal information for those other purposes. We will not collect or use sensitive information for purposes other than those described in this Policy, unless we have obtained your prior consent. You can decline to submit personal information to any service we may have to offer, in which case, WC MN TEC may not be able to provide said services to you.

WC MN TEC does not share personal information with any third party entity.

If we dissolve at any point in our existence, notice will be given, and any personal information kept on you will be destroyed.

Accessing and updating personal information

When you use WC MN TEC's website, or attend a retreat weekend, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate organization purposes. We ask individuals to identify themselves and the information requested to be accessed, corrected, or removed before processing such requests, and we may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required. In any case where we provide information access and correction, we perform this for you free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort. To begin any process for information access and correction, send an email to privacy(at)wcmntec.org.

Enforcement

WC MN TEC regularly reviews its compliance with this Policy. Please feel free to direct any questions or concerns regarding this Policy to privacy(at)wcmntec.org.

Changes to this policy

Please note that this Privacy Policy is subject to change. We will not reduce your rights under this Policy without your explicit consent, and we expect most such changes will be minor. In any case, we will post any Policy changes on this page, and if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice, such as an email being sent out. The version of the Policy is at the top of this page, and it includes the date it was adopted. Previous versions will be archived for your viewing.
